WHAT WERE YOUR REASONS FOR USING VALUENEX TOOLS?
In the preparation stage of establishing Panasonic IP Management in late 2013, I was in charge of patent research. There was a clear need for analytics, and this led to the use of VALUENEX tools.
Our objective is to commercialize intellectual property and methodologies that Panasonic has owned or practiced for a long time. In order to actively contribute to the growth strategy of our various business divisions, it is necessary to innovate our conventional methodology of patent research and analysis. Especially, the hypothesis verification process is key, which includes building hypotheses by analyzing results and verifying the hypotheses by factoring in information other than patent data. Through this process, we can strengthen the collaboration among technology, planning, and sales divisions.
Because the volume and type of information we need to analyze and use for research is ever increasing, we must prepare database and analytics tools that correspond to our needs. VALUENEX provides us with original analytics tools and methodologies in combination with educating and training our analysts, making their services highly suitable for our needs.

They can analyze up to 100,000 patent publications, highlight our areas of interest on the radar chart by combining a unique classification with the publication number, and analyze not only patents but also any text data with VALUENEXRadar - Documents. Additionally, when we learn usage and analytics methods through their consulting and training service, we can understand the high potential of the tools and their ability to be applied to various needs.
Beyond this, we are looking forward to more functions to come, including more automations (automatic assignment of area name, etc.) and additional in depth manuals for Cluster Map Viewer. Also, we hope to see an entry level version with new pricing model!
